Continued growth of busy audit team

We are delighted to announce that Phillip Brown has come on board full-time with Synectic, having been working for the firm up to 2 days a week over the last couple of years. Phillip brings a wealth of knowledge in the audit of Self Managed Super Funds (SMSFs) and not-for-profit community organisations, as well as trust accounts and general accounting.

So if your organisation is not getting the attention it deserves from your existing auditor, get in touch with Phillip at our Launceston office, 99-103 George St, or phone 03 6337 6777.

You can count on our Chartered Accountants

Synectic wish to congratulate Teresa Stanley on her successful completion of the Chartered Accountants Program. Teresa joins ten other Synectic staff to have gone through the rigorous program.

The program encompasses professional education combined with practical, mentored experience and is well recognised to produce accountants with superior technical skills and outstanding professional competence. It is the only professional accounting qualification in Australia that has Graduate Diploma status, reflecting its high academic standard and the level of commitment required to undertake the program.

Well done Teresa.

Welcome Danny Hoare – another reason you can count on us

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Danny Hoare as a Senior Manager in our Launceston office.

Another of our Xero Certified Advisers, Danny has a particular interest in helping clients to employ technology to gain a competitive advantage. We are delighted to have Danny’s business advisory, taxation and cloud accounting expertise on our team.

Continuing to lead the accounting profession with new CA ANZ appointment

Synectic are proud to acknowledge director Ben Coull‘s recent appointment as chair of Tasmanian Regional Council of Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand.

Ben takes on this role at an exciting time, with the amalgamation of the two trans-Tasman chartered accounting bodies recently being bedded down. The new Chartered Accountants ANZ body has an ideal opportunity to look to the future and start to shape its priorities, and specifically how it can deliver on the strategic pillars of relevance, reach and pre-eminence.

Ben’s appointment continues a strong tradition of leadership of the accounting profession by senior members of our firm, with director Yvonne Rundle having previously been Tasmanian Regional Chair in 2008-2009, whilst former partner Rob Atkinson also held the positions of both state and national chair of the Institute. We see an active contribution to our professional body as being an important part of maintaining the quality of accounting and advice not just for our clients, but for the community in general.

Our Launceston office has moved to George Street

We are excited to open the doors at our bigger, brighter Launceston office.

Our growing Launceston team is lead by Ben Coull (Director), Danny Hoare and Kirby Taylor (Senior Managers). We are all looking forward to helping the broader Launceston community with their accounting, audit and advisory needs.
