Yvonne joined Gareth as a director and joint owner of the Synectic Group in April 2011. Starting her career with Atkinson Gibson (now Synectic) as a Trainee Accountant in 1983, she then moved to Western Australia in 1987, returning to Tasmania in 1988 and to our firm in 1991.
Throughout those years Yvonne has developed extensive experience in public and commercial practice including audit, business services, estate planning, management accounting, training and taxation.
A graduate of the Institute of Company Directors and fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA) and the Taxation Institute of Australia (TIA) Yvonne has also supplemented her experience in public practice with a number of senior board positions. She is currently a non-executive director of Tote Tasmania, Deputy Chancellor of the University of Tasmania and a past Chairperson of the Tasmanian division of the ICAA.
Married with two children, Yvonne and her family live on a small organic orchard on the outskirts of Devonport. She is also an enthusiastic member of the Surf Life Saving Club.
Yvonne has been active in the management and direction of the firm for many years and her recent undertaking of the role of director alongside Gareth is a reflection of her continued commitment, dedication and expertise.
