Ian began his accounting career in 1973 in a small practice operating in Burnie and Devonport. In 1982 the practice merged with Atkinson Gibson (later to be restructured as Synectic) and so began his involvement in the history of our firm. When the partners took on operation of their own firms in 1989 Ian continued working with Mike Gibson, where he remained until his recent move to Synectic as a result of our merger with Mike.
Ian applies his wealth of knowledge and experience to specialise in taxation and business advisory services. He is a member of the Tax Institute of Australia and is a Registered Tax Agent.
Out of work hours Ian keeps himself fit by walking, maintaining the garden and through his 30 year involvement with a social running club, the Devonport Hash House Harriers. He also enjoys motorsport, Sunday drives in his MG and spending time with his family.
